EFICIENŢA TERAPIEI COGNITIV-COMPORTAMENTALE ÎN AMELIORAREA DEPRESIEI LA PACIENŢII CU DEMENŢĂ.

The present study was designed to evaluate the efficacy of cognitive-behavioral therapy in ameliorating depression and slowing cognitive decline in patients with different types of dementia. We used an controlled analitical experimental study. The studied group consisted of 60 cases of both genders, aged over 52 years, with diagnosis of different types of demetia and instituionalised. The group was randomly allocated to two groups, each of 30 cases. The subjects from the first group received standard procedeeings of treatment and those from the second group underwent cognitive-behavioral therapy. It has been prooved statistically the efficacy of cognitive behavioral-therapy in ameliorating depression and slowing the cognitive decline for dementia patients [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
