On the Role of Rules and Values in Decision Making Process.

The intention of this paper is to present a scheme in which the key normative elements in the process of decision making to be identified. Although the analysis starts from the more general framework of the theory of rational decision making, the aim is the application of this general framework to be shown in the specific field of morality. A central place will be devoted to the analysis of the relationship between values and rules in ethical decision making. The relation between normativity and rational choice, the main problems of the application of rational procedures in the practical situations will be traced here. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
