Abstract

Journalism is constructed through narrative, a key element in building worlds by subjects participating in the communicative process. The newspaper story is transformed and takes on new structures as journalism goes through changes. At certain times in history, the involvement of writes with journalistic practice modifies the newspaper report, the text giving factual aspects of literature. The convergence of these two fields (journalism and literature) in a single textual space makes room for questions about the boundaries between fiction and reality. In Rio de Janeiro decades of 20 and 30 this relationship between literature and journalism was noted in the newspapers of the time and if there was a space where this relationship was explicit, was in the police report. In this paper, we propose a comparative analysis between the literary and journalistic prose writer, journalist and playwright, Nelson Rodrigues, in order to demonstrate the degree of influence held between the two fields in the construction of the narrative rodriguiana.
