Abstract
- The article discusses the military strategic concept known as the Observe-Orient-Decide-Act loop, or the OODA loop, also called the Boyd Cycle, developed by United States Air Force (USAF) Colonel John Boyd. It examines the influence of Boyd's experience in the Korean War, particularly in area known as MiG Alley. The author comments on the performance of the fighter planes the MiG-15 and the F-86 Sabre in the war. He also reflects on aircraft maneuvering and closure speeds. The continued relevance of the OODA loop concept is explored.
