Abstract: The article presents a study on the acquisition of an artificial language that is made according to vowel harmony (VH) rules. The researchers observed 36 undergraduate students from Hacettepe University in Ankara, Turkey, all of which were native speakers of Turkish. They found that vowel harmony is a pattern that was easy to master for Turkish speakers.
