Abstract
- The article focuses on civil rights movement and cultural globalization in the U.S. It mentions Sidney W. Smyer, the segregationist who handed the U.S. civil rights movement victory, wherein Smyer agreed to promote the plan which end segregation in Birmingham, Alabama. It says that the civil right movement and the people who joined the movement were the first to harness the powers of globalization which reshaped cultural identities and agency.
