Abstract

Evaluates the conformational consequences of chemically modifying the Cys beta93 sulfhydryl group of both the deoxy and carbon monoxide-saturated derivatives of human adult hemoglobin. Effect of the conformation of both linker chemistry and poly(ethylene glycol) size; Generation of several derivatives through a maleimide reaction with sulfhydryl.
