Abstract

Reports on the construction of the Stanford Linear Collider (SLC) as of September 1984. How the SLC is the crucial testing ground of a new accelerator technology that is seen as crucial if electron-positron collision energies are pushed much beyond what Large Electron Positron storage ring (LEP) will make available; How LEP is under construction near Geneva; Linear colliders. INSETS: Fusion experiments have begun at Antares;Nova nears completion.
