Abstract

The article discusses a tailored intervention used to aid decision-making about hormone replacement therapy. Individually customized decision aids that include only the most important information could make it easier for women to consider the risks and benefits of hormone replacement therapy. The article describes the effect of customized decision aid on women's accuracy of perceived risk for breast cancer, confidence to decide about hormone therapy, and satisfaction with the decision. As a result, customized decision aid improved the accuracy of women's perceived breast cancer risk confidence to decide about hormone therapy, and satisfaction with the decision.
