Abstract
- The article presents a study which analyzes the genetic mechanism of the high alpha-tocopherol content trait of Keszthelyi Aproszemu Sarga (KAS), a variety of soybean (Glycine max). It is said that breeding methods focuses on improving alpha-tocopherol content to increase the nutritional value of crops. The study identified a gene, which encodes g-tocopherol methyltransferase, as a candidate gene responsible for high alpha-tocopherol concentration in KAS.
