First characterization of the spawning habitat and mating behaviour of Twaite shad in the Ebro River (Western Mediterranean).

The article focuses on the study regarding the Twaite shad mating behaviour and spawing habitat identification in Ebro River, Spain. The study utilized materials and methods which include global positioning system (GPS), auditory and visual recordings and interviews and questionnaires with citizens. Results show that the main reproductive area is between 0.5 and 1 kilometer (km) downstream of the Ebro river weir with mating activity taking place during 23:45, 04:05 and 02:15.
