Abstract
- The article considers the history of Fenway Park baseball field in Boston, Massachusetts. The dominant role played by outfielder Ted Williams on the Boston Red Sox teams of that era is discussed. Other players discussed include Joe DiMaggio and Johnny Pesky. Details are given on a potential swap between Williams and football games played at Fenway Park are noted. The failure of the Red Sox to racially integrate the team's players in the 1940s is examined. It is noted Fenway Park served as the site of the last speech given by U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt during the 1944 election campaign.
