A caption is presented to an aerial photograph of Boston, Massachusetts taken in the 1950s which focuses on the Fenway Park baseball field located in that city, and is used as an introduction to articles published in this issue on the field's history in both baseball and other sports from 1940-1969 It is stressed that during that decade the field also served as a football stadium for college football games. Fenway Park's status as one of the city's older large buildings even during that era is discussed.
