Abstract

The article presents an account of the Oberlin-Wellington Rescue of 1858. Details are given describing the activities of Anderson Jennings, a slave catcher who traveled to Oberlin, Ohio to recapture the runaway slave John Price. Details are given describing several instances of conflicts and skirmishes between Jennings and local abolitionists such as Orindatus Wall, known as O.S.B. Wall, who resisted him.
