Abstract
- The article offers poetry criticism of the poems "There's a Certain Slant of Light," by Emily Dickinson, and "The Snow Man," by Wallace Stevens. Similarities between the poems regarding their use of the winter season as a metaphor to explore negation and reduction are noted and ways in which contradiction serves as a theme is explained.
