Abstract
- The article discusses the short supply of several vital chemotherapy drugs in the U.S. It claims that majority of such drugs are generic that are used to treat childhood leukemia and curable cancers, including vincristine, methotrexate and cytarabine. Among the adverse impacts of the shortage are increased costs of cancer care and lesser incentives for oncologists in administering generics rather than brand-name drugs.
