Abstract

The article examines the asymptotic properties of special types of extremal point configurations called greedy energy points. It states that the extremal point configurations are generated by a greedy algorithm which is an energy minimizing construction. It notes that the behavior of greedy points significantly differs from that of minimal energy points in some situations.
