Abstract

To analyze the effect of different loads at peak power and vertical jump height attained by water polo players, 16 professional players performed the test of vertical jump on the force platform without arm, under the conditions: no load, 5%, 10%, and 15% of body weight. The One-way Anova was used with Turkey post hoc test with significance level of 0.05. No significant differences were found in the peak power output between the different loads for the athletes. The behavior of peak power curves are similar in the four studied conditions. This result suggests that the minimum load of training for the group starts at 15% of body weight.
