Izquierda-derecha vs. centro-periferia: una aproximación al discurso de los partidos políticos vascos (1977-2009).

The Basque Country is an autonomous community where the centre-periphery and the classical left-right cleavage are present. Political scientists debate about which of these two cleavages is dominant in Basque politics. So far, however, this debate has focused on electoral behaviour but not on political discourse. In this article we use content analysis in the form of a dictionary in order to answer the question whether — at the level of political discourse — issues of the "Basque conflict" or the left-right cleavage are more important.
