The collaborative paradigm: towards an invitational and participatory concept of online communication.

The authors explores the conceptualization of online communication in the global community. They contend that to dichotomize the concept of the internet into either a known or an unknown territory may limit the understanding of this new form of communication. They propose that those engaged in this field consider some foundational ideas of communication and explore other ideas. The authors argue that online communication should be approached as a collaborative system.
