The article examines international efforts to prevent tax evasion, particularly those efforts aimed as countries known as so-called tax havens. Research indicating that the detrimental economic impact of tax evasion related to tax havens is significant, especially for developing countries, is considered. The possible effects on the finances of companies which shelter income in tax havens of legislation of international standards for tax evasion law are discussed.
