Abstract
- The article presents a study on the predatory blackfin icefish Chaenocephalus aceratus infected with Acanthocephala at the South Orkney Islands and South Shetland Islands. The researchers examined 76 blackfin icefish. They based the comparison between infections of males and females of C. aceratus on the mean abundance of parasites. They found that the dominance of Corynosoma bullosum in females of C. aceratus is a result of weak infections with Corynosoma pseudohamanni and Corynosoma hamanni.
