Abstract

The article discusses the progress of politics and government in sub-Saharan Africa in 2011. It examines efforts at democracy, multiparty political systems, peaceful transitions of power, and leaders in countries such as Zambia, Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda. It is suggested that the African people have made progress with calls for reform and protest movements inspired by the Arab Spring uprising of 2011.
