Abstract

The article presents a study focusing on the determinants of the repeated-bout effect (RBE) after lengthening contractions. As stated, the study compared the protective effect of two different injury protocols on the ankle dorsiflexors in the rat. The study concludes that RBE is both rapid in onset and prolonged, and not all injuries can protect against different types of subsequent injury.
