Abstract
- The article looks at the stewardship of Fox News television by network chairman Roger Ailes. Topics discussed include the network's so-called course correction from politically conservative content to more moderate programming, Ailes's belief that controversy makes for good television, and his hiring of television journalist Megyn Kelly. The article describes Ailes's coverage of the 2012 Republican presidential candidates' debates as a reality show where candidates are encouraged to fight with each other. Ailes's opinions on New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg, his friendship with news mogul Rupert Murdoch, and his political views are noted.
