Based on a psychological research about university students, it was verified that most of the students' complaints concerned the relational-affective and productive sectors. A second researched investigated how students are represented in the print media through news published by Folha de S. Paulo, O Estado de S. Paulo and A Tribuna newspapers. Both researches made use of Ryad Simon's Adaptive Evolution Theory and its four sectors: relational-affective, productive, organic and social-cultural. The news focused intensively on the students' productive and social-cultural sectors rather than on relational-affective and organic ones. Journalists were requested to fill out a questionnaire and the majority of them considered that news are more complex when they focus all four sectors of human adaptation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
