Optical coherence tomography: has its time come?

The authors reflect on the optical coherence tomography (OCT). The authors mentions the use of OCT in the examination of stent trut in patients. The authors state that in 5,931 patients examined with stent strut, 98.4% showed adequate neointimal coverage and revealed the absence of intra-stent thrombus. The authors suggest that drug-elution timescale is suitable for minimal intimal proliferation while having stent strut coverage of eight months.
