BURDEN OF TUBERCULOSIS - COMBATING DRUG RESISTANCE.

The author reflects on the global threat for the emergence of multidrug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) in Pakistan. The author is critical on the challenges for the implementation of DOTS Plus strategies which include laboratory, treatment and logistic support. It concludes that the highest priority of the government is to prevent the MDR through effective DOTS.
