Abstract

The article presents a study on the development and use of convex wrapping algorithm that directly utilizes accurate bone geometry to determine muscular paths during movement. The study adopts straight line method and wrapping surface algorithm to measure the muscle lengths, muscular contraction speeds and moment arms of the semitendinosus muscle during asymptomatic gait. Results show that convex wrapping algorithm comprises an original advance in the modeling of musculoskeletal geometry.
