Abstract: The article discusses the project, Assessment of Hearing in the Elderly: Aging and Degeneration -- Integration through Immediate Intervention, 2008-2011, funded by the European Commission. One of the aims of the project is to increase awareness of early detection, the crucial role of population screening, and the need for effective interventions for hearing impairment in the elderly. It also involves a survey of international experts about non-hearing aid interventions.
