Abstract
- The article presents a research that studied the molecular mechanisms for ischemic myocardial injury after nonlethal trauma, with focus on the effect of tumor necrosis factor its downstream effector adinopectin. The response of mice that were given nonlethal mechanical trauma using the Noble-Collip drum followed by myocardial injury were examined. It was found that tumor necrosis factor-induced downregulation of adiponectin is connected to exacerbated posttraumatic ischemic myocardial injury.
