Abstract: The case of a 42-year-old man with a nonviolent criminal history caused by compulsive gambling is presented. His Rorschach is analyzed and interpreted using both psychostructural (Exner, 1986) and psychodynamic (Cooper, Perry, & Arnow, 1988; Meloy & Gacono, 1992b) methodologies. Findings provide idiographic support for Meloy's (1988) hypothesis that a neurotic psychopath is an oxymoron, yet neurotic personality organization and criminal behavior can and do coexist.
