Abstract

The article offers information on the two plant species found in Kenton County, Kentucky on June 5, 2007. The Lotus tenuis or narrow-leaved birdsfoot's-trefoil is described to have a shorter calyx tube, smaller corolla and narrower leaflets of the medial leaves than its closely related congener, Lotus corniculatus. The Puccinellia distans or weeping alkali grass is primarily found in coastal saline areas such as those created by winter rock salting along roadsides.
