Abstract

The article describes the clinical case of a man who was presented to the hospital with diarrhea. The man has developed diarrhea after returning to the U.S. from the Dominican Republic where he attended a social event and had 12 watery bowel movements within 35 hours upon arrival. Doctor (Dr.) Edward T. Ryan has diagnosed the condition as possible cholera. Dr. Lawrence C. Madoff states that a Vibrio (V.) cholerae strain infected the patient and others who attended the event.
