Abstract
- The article reports that expatriate assignments to China and other Asian countries are returning as the economy struggles to recover from the downturn. Scott Sullivan of Brookfield Global Relocation Services describes today's expat assignments as less glamorous, less exclusive and more routine. A survey by Brookfield found that most companies plan to increase their number of international assignees in 2011. It attributes Dow Chemical's growing expat assignments to global expansion efforts.
