Editorial.

The author comments on the impact of the earthquake and tsunami that hit the northern part of Japan on March 11, 2011 on the Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) Nuclear Science Research Institute in Tokai, Japan. He relates that all of the experimental facilities of the institute were seriously damaged by the earthquake. He describes the status of the JRR-3 reactor of the institute. He expresses his gratitude for colleagues in the field of neutron science for offering support to the institute.
