Abstract

The article investigates the effects of diet and physical activity on blood glucose pressure and glucose concentrations in adults with type 2 diabetes in southwest England. Patients aged 30 to 80 years are assigned with usual care, intensive diet intervention, and a pedometer-based activity programme. It was found that in the control group, glycaemic control has worsened while in the diet group, it was improved. There are also improvements in bodyweight and insulin resistance in both groups.
