Abstract
- The article presents several responses to the New York Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA)'s "If You See Something, Say Something" campaign. The public service advertisements urge passengers to report suspicious activity. It is suggested that the campaign is ineffective and contributes to paranoia and xenophobia while masking deeper problems in society. Topics discussed include the book "Thinking Past Terror: Islamism and Critical Theory on the Left" by Susan Buck-Morss, the New York Police Department (NYPD), and the idea of safety.
