Abstract

Hysteresis loops measured at various temperatures were used to study the intrinsic, induced and total pyroelectric responses in Pb(Sc1/2Ta1/2)O3 (PST) ceramics. The intrinsic pyroelectric response was directly measured from the change rate of the remnant polarization with temperature. The induced one was calculated using the data of the dielectric permittivity derived from hysteresis loops. By analyzing the pyroelectric effect of PST ceramics under 30 kV/cm, the results showed that the induced pyroelectric response played a dominant role in the total pyroelectric coefficient near Curie temperature.
