Abstract

The article presents a study on how GTS1, a pleiotropic gene, affects a variety of biological phenomena in a gene-dose-dependent manner. It notes that a genome-wide transcriptional analysis determined genes in response to GTS1 induction which said to have caused derepression of Tup1-Cyc8-repressing genes and chromatin remodeling through the interaction of Gts1p with Cyc8p. Moreover, the study finds that inhibition of Tup1-Cyc8 results in Gts1p-mediated gene depression.
