Abstract
- The article offers information on the Chapter 9 legislation introduced by Senator Alex Padilla of California which make the permitting process of developing solar power project in deserts of California faster. It states that the legislation aims to help solar power developers comply with the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funding before the deadline, while still complying with the California Endangered Species Act (CESA). It says that the legislation permits the Department of Fish and Games to purchase the land in which the development will take place if it will affect the environment of endangered species. It adds that solar project could help California create job and meet the goal for renewable resources while protecting endangered species.
