Abstract
- Axisymmetrical and three dimentional flows through single circular and rectangular microchannel with diaphragm are studied in this paper to imitate the performance of micro-machined membrane particle filter with grid of through holes. The microchannel flows are studied using both the DSMC method and the information preservation (IP) method which yield the result of pressure drop across the diaphragm in better agreement with the experimental data for the membrane filter, than the NS equation calculation with slip boundary condition.
