Abstract
- The article discusses the implications of black pigment in human tissue for pathological diagnosis. It explains the need for a diagnostic pathologists to distinguish endogenous pigment from exogenous and artifactual pigments. The different conditions where black pigments can be found are cited, such as ochronosis, regional lymph nodes and lung lymph nodes. Radiographic images of a surgical specimen taken from a 70-year-old patient, that show black pigment, are also presented.
