Abstract
- Presents a study that examined the role of serotonin, 5-hydroxytryptamine type 1A (5-HT[sub1A]) receptors in the rostral ventrolateral medulla in the mediation of the sympathoinhibitory and hypotensive responses to severe hemorrhage. Analysis of renal sympathetic nerve activity subjected to blockade of 5-HT[sub1A]; Examination of blood pressure response to 5-HT[sub1A]; Assessment of the role of baroreceptors/chemoreceptors.
