Abstract

The article discusses a June 2011 report from the U.S. National Center on Education and the Economy suggesting that the United States reform its educational system. It is suggested that a system like those in foreign countries successful in international assessment could be achieved using tactics such as decreased standardized testing. Comparison of international education and the creation of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development by U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan are discussed.
