Abstract
- The article discusses research findings on the rise of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) in the U.S. It mentions a study released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) titled "The Direct Medical Costs of Healthcare-Associated Infections in U.S. Hospitals and the Benefits of Prevention" which predicted that one out of every 20 hospitalized patients will be infected with an HAI.
