Abstract
- The article presents the author's insights on the slow pace of achieving the Force 2030, the Australian defence plan, due to impending defence budget cuts and slow first and second path approvals of defence projects. He cites the analysis by Mark Thomson of the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI) which concludes that Force 2030 will not be met if the government does not change its policy. He mentions various areas of concern like the underspent Air Warfare Destroyer (AWD) project.
