Abstract

The article discusses the indictments of New York City construction manager Lehr Construction Corp. and four of its executives as well as six area subcontractors and their owners in a contractor-bid inflation scheme. Lehr was indicted for corruption, fraud, grand larceny and money laundering. The indictments were part of a continuing crackdown on fraud in the city's interiors-renovation sector. Prosecutors claim that the scheme overcharged clients by 30 million U.S. dollars in the last 10 years.
