Abstract

An interview with Muhammad Totah, an elected Hamas lawmaker who defied order by the Israeli authorities to leave Jerusalem, Israel, is presented. When asked what led him and his three other elected lawmakers to seek refuge at the Red Cross headquarters in East Jerusalem, he narrates their case and his desire to put their case in the international community radar. Totah informs that if they are deported from Jerusalem, it will mean deporting thousands of people from Jerusalem for disloyalty. He also argues that East Jerusalem is an occupied territory.
