Time to Rethink PSA Screening.

The authors comment on a study which investigated the risk profile of patients who were newly diagnosed with prostate cancer and the treatment patterns in the U.S. population. The authors believe that overdiagnosis and overtreatment problem from diagnostic screening is in part due to the low sensitivity and specificity of serum prostate-specific antigen (PSA).
